ALBION AVIATION DRONE TEAM EXPLORES OPPORTUNITIES WITH VIRA DRONES
The Albion Aviation Group has teamed up with Switzerland based Vira Drones to explore drone utilization in the ad-hoc cargo charter market. Albion was the first aircraft charter broker globally to offer a dedicated drone charter service and is now actively exploring strategic partnerships with drone operators and manufacturers worldwide to assist with their R&D processes and overall market application. Vira Drones is an innovative drone company led by a team of highly skilled professionals from the aviation and helicopter industries, whose mission is to save lives and make hard-to-reach areas accessible at a reasonable cost using start of the art drone technology. Vira Drones is currently in the production phase of its M1000 Model, which offers a cargo payload of 1,000kg nett and a range of 2hrs flying or 300km without refueling. The internal hold dimensions of the M1000 Model are 5m x 1.8m x 1.8m and the unique design of the M1000 allows it to be packed and transported in a 40ft SOC, allowing for seamless and efficient transportation.
Val Gorshkov (Vira Drones – Founder & CEO) comments: “I am delighted to announce our collaboration with the esteemed professionals at Albion Aviation Group. Our primary objective is to meticulously understand and refine customer needs with the overarching goal of reducing the cost per aircraft flight hour. We aspire to enable our clients to transport cargo via unmanned helicopters and drones, rendering it financially viable in scenarios where it was previously deemed prohibitively expensive. I am confident that through this partnership, we will successfully achieve our goal, ushering in a more sustainable and cost-effective future for the aviation industry. The synergy between Vira Drones and Albion Aviation Group sets the stage for meaningful innovation, and I eagerly anticipate the positive outcomes that will result from our collective efforts.”
Lewis King (Albion Aviation Group – Director) comments “We are excited to assist Val and the Vira Drone team in the R&D and market application phase of their M1000 Model. Albion already operates cargo charters to remote and challenging locations for a wide portfolio of clients, and over time we strongly feel that with the advancement of drone technology we may see some of these aircraft charters being replaced with unmanned aerial vehicles. It’s a very exciting space to work in and we want to be at the very forefront of the drone charter market as it evolves.”
