ALBION AVIATION CHARTERS A330F FOR HUMANITARIAN RELIEF SHIPMENTS

The Albion cargo team recently coordinated a widebody A330F charter flight to uplift a consolidated shipment of humanitarian relief from Europe to Egypt. The shipment comprised of emergency shelter items, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals. The shipment consisted of more than 200 individual pieces weighing in at 48.5T and 276cbm in volume. Careful load planning and build-up ensured the efficient use of all of the the A330F’s maindeck and lowerdeck positions to ensure that the entire shipment could be uplifted as planned. Given the temperature-sensitive nature of the pharmaceuticals, the Albion cargo team worked closely with the ground handling agent at the departure airport so as to ensure that the cargo was stored at the correct temperature and the aircraft hold temperatures were set between +15°C and +25°C. The Albion team also obtained confirmation from the flight crew prior to the aircrafts departure, confirming that the correct hold temperature had been set.

Although the flight experienced a slight delay upon departure due to a delay in the offloading of the inbound aircraft, Albion’s active flight monitoring ensured that the client was constantly updated of the revised departure time and that the delay had no impact on the cold chain for the temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical shipments. This cargo charter operation once again highlights the Albion Aviation Group’s expertise in managing complex, temperature-controlled humanitarian charter flights, delivering reliable and compliant air cargo solutions under demanding operational conditions.
