ALBION AVIATION OPERATES HUMANITARIAN RELIEF CHARTER FROM EUROPE TO AFRICA
The Albion cargo team chartered a B747F to transport 99 tonnes and 460cbm of essential medical supplies from Europe to East Africa. Due to the large volume of cargo, the B747F was once again the most suitable aircraft for this payload and routing.
As with most humanitarian medical shipments, a proportion of the cargo was temperature-sensitive. Strict temperature control protocols therefore had to be maintained, and arrangements were made both at the departure airport and throughout the flight to preserve the integrity of the cold chain.
The flight departure did, however, experience a minor delay due to an unforeseen aircraft-on-ground (AOG) event involving the assigned B747F upon its arrival at the departure airport. The Albion cargo team worked closely with the operator to source a replacement B747F, minimising the delay while maintaining the cold chain for the temperature-sensitive cargo throughout the entire operation.
This flight was a testament to the Albion team's longstanding experience and ability to respond quickly and effectively to operational challenges in what is often a complex and fast-moving environment. The Albion team is one of the leading cargo charter providers within the humanitarian and relief sector.
