ALBION UPLIFTS URGENT HUMANITARIAN RELIEF TO NEPAL

The Albion Aviation Group cargo team arranged a B747-400F charter flight to transport an urgent consignment of humanitarian relief supplies from Europe to Kathmandu, Nepal, following the devastating flash floods that struck the region on the 26th August 2026.

Albion responded rapidly to the urgent requirement, sourcing the most suitable aircraft for the mission. Particular attention was given to selecting an aircraft operator whose flight crew met the applicable requirements for operations into Kathmandu Airport (KTM), given the airport's high elevation and challenging approach environment surrounded by mountainous terrain.

The humanitarian cargo comprised of a wide range of essential supplies, including tents, blankets, first-responder equipment and medical items. Given the required payload and the long-distance routing from Europe to Nepal, the B747-400F provided the appropriate combination of capacity and range for the mission.

Albion Aviation Group is proud to have played a role in supporting the humanitarian relief effort and remains ready to respond rapidly to future humanitarian and disaster-relief requirements anywhere in the world.
