Lockheed Corporation, USA | MEDIUM HAUL

ABOUT:

An aircraft first introduced in the mid 1960s, the Lockheed L-100 Hercules is a civilian variant of the abundantly used military C-130. There are several civilian versions that have been produced, with the L-100-30 model proving the most popular with its extended fuselage, seeing some 120 in total built. One of its major assets is operating in remote locations that often have few scheduled services, as well as its ability to take off from short runways and operate efficiently on unpaved runways or rough terrain. Lockheed formally relaunched the LM-100J program, a further variant of the aircraft, with orders taking place in 2020. Lockheed sees the new LM-100J as an ideal replacement for the existing civil L-100 fleets, and should offer further options for cargo charter in the future.
